mistakes AdMob advertisting beginners do most?
1. Not defining your goals and target audience properly (on paper as well as in the Demographic and geo targeting settings)
2. Not giving enough chance for an ad to run before you start optimizing
3. Relying entirely too much on the CTR data and not enough on the conversion data
4. Not segmenting your campaigns sufficiently to get actionable data
5. Too many changes made while optimizing the campaign will not give you actionable data since you would not know which of the change actually triggered an improvement in installs
6. May sound strange but have seen plenty of ads with horrendous copy and bad design
normal banner ads have very low cost per click earnings. And for that, somebody must click your ad. The eCPM is better with Interstitial ads and Video ads, but then you can’t expect too many views.
Google’s Admob typically gives about 20–50 cents per 1000 banner ad impressions. With your 100 users, the question of whether you will get time to show 1000 impressions overall, would be dependent on how long the user uses the app/game in a session. Assuming a typical ad refresh interval of 60 secs, it will take over 6 minutes for each user to potentially see 10 ads. A typical user don’t usually stay that long with the same app. So, at a stretch, assuming 10 ads per 100 user does get served, it will yield 20–50 cents.
